Shnookies quilts- Blue T quilt

We decided the red quilt was just too girly! When our lovely friends announced that they had had a boy, we knew he needed a blue quilt.

Baby T lives in Melbourne, so we backed the quilt in flannel to make it warm and cosy.

He hasn't had a great first week, but we hope he is now on the mend. We hope our little blue quilt brings some hapiness and warmth to baby T and his parents.

Along with the quilt we are sending some of the cuddliest knitwear ever- Shnookies beanies and jackets! Check them out here....

Shnookies quilts- Zari's quilt

A special girl is turning two! Here is her gift- a big quilt in yellows, with a touch of grey and pink.

This quilt is backed in flannel to make it extra snuggly.

It features a special 'Z' in the corner. We hope Zari and her parents love it and it reminds them of us in the years ahead!

Shnookies quilts- Red quilt

Here is another new baby quilt for friends. They also don't know whether it's a boy or a girl, so hopefully this red quilt will be perfect for either.

We hope they like it!

Luckily, it got the seal of approval from the most discerning quilt critic- our beautiful cat. He thinks it's tops!

Shnookies quilts- Owl quilt

Here is a new quilt just made for friends expecting their first baby in the next few weeks. They don't know if there is a boy or a girl on the way, so we chose fabrics that will work well for either. We hope they like it!

The quilt top was made using a new technique that made it faster and more fun to make. So there will be more of these types of quilts to come!

The quilting has made this a tough little blanket that can be used and washed often. Can't wait to give it to the parents-to-be!

Cats on quilts

Some inspiration for those of us that love cats and quilts. And who know that there is nothing a cat loves more than sleeping on anything you are sewing...

Shnookies quilts- Giraffe quilt

Another Shnookies quilt to share!

This whimsical quilt uses fantastic giraffe fabric from Sprout. The grazing giraffes are enjoying a field of tiny green flowers.
The quilting is a mass of wavy lines and the orange binding lifts the colours and ties it all together.

This quilt is an absolute favourite of mine. I may have to make some similar ones to share in the future.

I really like the clean bold fabrics from Sprout. I have used several of the other designs too, including the red tortoises in a pillow and the skipping girl in a soft bib. Too cute!

Shnookies quilts- Layla's quilt

Sometimes great fabric and a simple design is the most effective technique for a striking quilt!

Here is Layla's quilt, using pale pinks and creams. It is lovely to use as a play mat or a cot blanket.
I used a variety of cottons in a simple grid, including Alexander Henry's 'Starling' fabric in white and pink.
